Announcing a Record-Breaking Start to 2009

UNIT, one of the UK’s leading post-production and creative service companies, today announces a record-breaking start to 2009 and the appointments of Toby Brockhurst as VFX Supervisor, Will Davies as 3D Artist and Ben Young as After Effects finisher.

In January, UNIT doubled its BBC project wins compared to the same period last year, and was running at full capacity, with almost all its suites fully booked. Commercials work and vfx projects are flourishing in particular, and the recent appointments of Toby and Ben to the UNIT Effects department further bolster UNIT’s pool of talent.

Adam Luckwell, CEO of UNIT, comments: “UNIT continues to expand and strengthen its position as one of Soho’s leading post-production houses. The visual effects department, in particular, is winning a host of great projects, and we are dedicated to continuing its growth. UNIT has begun the year with a phenomenal bang and the depth of experience and level of expertise of the new appointments will be invaluable to our continued expansion.

Toby Brockhurst brings to UNIT 18 years of experience in the commercials and movie industry, previously working as a freelancer and senior artist for companies such as MPC, Glassworks and The Mill. His credits include commercials for Cadbury’s, BMW, Tesco and Adidas; promotional videos for Tori Amos and Jamiroquai; and feature films Moulin Rouge and Pearl Harbour.

Will Davies is a hugely talented artist with an extensive portfolio of visual effects for commercials. In his previous role at Glassworks, Will has worked on developing sophisticated visual effects for clients including BMW, Vodafone, Bank of Ireland, Fiat and Hyundai.

Ben Young is an experienced designer and editor, working as a freelancer for many years for clients such as L’Oreal, Garnier, EDF Energy, Honda and Barclaycard. He joins UNIT with extensive experience in a variety of applications from the Outlook Group where he worked on high-end, long and short-form edits for well-known clients.

UNIT’s latest projects include visual effects work on commercials such as Sky HD, VISA, World Vision, Toshiba and Poker Party, and music video projects including Scouting for Girls’ ‘Heartbeat’, Meck’s ‘Feels Like Home’ and Soulseekerz’s ‘Party for the Weekend’.
