UNIT grows production team further

UNIT, one of the UK’s leading post-production and creative service companies, is pleased to announce the appointment of Kim Storey.  Storey joins the company as Dubbing Mixer and will be responsible for the majority of V/O record, dubbing and sound design for all projects booked into their brand new state of the art, 5.1 Suite.

Storey has worked in the industry for over 13 years after studying audio in Sydney Australia.  He’s mixed a multitude of series and worked with agencies such as BBDO and Ogilvy & Mather.  Storey joins UNIT from 6 Degrees Studio in Calgary, Canada.

The appointment follows major investment in May this year which has allowed UNIT to double in size.  UNIT has increased its team from just seven to 27 in the last 18 months.

UNIT have almost completed expansion work, following the acquisition of the adjoining building in Soho’s Carlisle Street, which has allowed them to increase the existing eight Apple Final Cut Pro editing suites to 18, and as well as the growing VFX department, a new in-house 5.1 audio division is also available and has enabled them to increase the range of high-end services they can offer.  On top of this they are able to offer commercials-specific Online suites and have increased the size of their Machine Room from five MCR bays to ten.

The top two floors of UNIT’s new facilities are already booked after securing three long-form series for Sky, Discovery USA and National Geographic.  They have also recently secured a number of commercials and VFX projects for Virgin, ITV, Sky, Mazda and Puma to name but a few.

David Peto, Managing Director and co-founder of UNIT says, “It has been a really busy and successful six months for UNIT.  We are continually striving to offer our clients an individual service and the major investment received in May has really helped us to do this and bring new clients onboard”.
