UNIT secures major deals with Sky, Discovery USA and National Geographic
UNIT, one of the UK’s leading post-production and creative service companies, has secured projects with Sky, Discovery USA and National Geographic following the imminent completion of their extensive expansion.
After major investment in May this year, UNIT have almost completed expansion work, following the acquisition of the adjoining building in Soho’s Carlisle Street, which has allowed them to double in size. UNIT have increased the existing eight Apple Final Cut Pro editing suites to 18, and as well as the growing VFX department, a new in-house 5.1 audio division is also available and has enabled them to increase the range of high-end services they can offer. On top of this they are able to offer Commericals specific Online suites and have increased the size of their Machine Room from 5 bays to 10. (MCR).
Although not entirely complete, the top two floors of UNIT’s new facilities are already booked after securing three long-form series for Sky, Discovery USA and National Geographic. They have also recently secured a number of commercials and VFX projects for Virgin, ITV, Sky, Mazda and Puma to name but a few.
The success has also seen UNIT increase its team, bringing the number of full time permanent staff to 27 from just 7 eighteen months ago. This includes Alex Finch who joined the team in September as an in-house post producer, seven technical staff and one full time dubbing mixer. Rhiannon Price has also been promoted from bookings manager to in-house post producer following the expansion. The growth of the company is reflective of its continued success.
David Peto, Managing Director and co-founder of UNIT says, “It has been a really busy and successful six months for UNIT. We are continually striving to offer our clients an individual service and the major investment received in May has really helped us to do this and bring new clients onboard”.
