RED army
We love RED. If it's handled correctly, it can produce amazing results. But it's not easy to get the process right – in fact, it's very easy to get it wrong. Here at UNIT, we're fully equipped to deal with RED footage – regardless of your deliverable. Sky's the limit
Recently voted most memorable campaign on television by Marketing Magazine, UNIT have completed another series of TVCs for Sky+HD for agency Brothers and Sisters. Our in-house ops Charlie Cassidy, Andrew Keep and Peter Stenhouse have done another stunning job. You can see their efforts everywhere, from the terrestrial channels, to cinema, to digital signage across London. UNIT's unique, all-digital workflow made it easy.

Top Ten
UNIT are delighted to announce that we were ranked 9th best commercials post facility in this year’s Televisual Facilities Fifty, and 7th best for corporates. Not bad for our second year of business. Our unique approach was praised, as well as the fact that we ‘have facilities like nowhere else.’ What makes it special for us is that it was voted for by our clients. We love you all – thank you!
Diesel viral
UNIT recently completed online and audio for Diesel's naughty 'SFW XXX' viral. Celebrating Diesel's 30th Anniversary, and their Dirty Thirty parties, this spot for The Viral Factory has been a worldwide hit and has already achieved instant notoriety. Our audio whizz Kim Storey did the sound design, whilst in-house editor Simon Hill did the online. Proceed with caution!

Red Bull X-Fighters
The UNIT team have been revving their engines through August with a six part series for 'Dave', covering the annual Red Bull sponsored international Motorcross event. We dealt with all flavours and framerates of HD footage from six countries. The client offlined themselves, with UNIT joining the race for the Online / Grade and Audio.
Jetix
UNIT would like to thank our friends at Broadcaster 'Jetix' for a strong show through August. From on-air promos to commercials: be it Lego or Meccano, UNIT had no trouble piecing it all together. Jetix's move to FCP means that they can utilise UNIT to its full potential, easily transferring projects from their system to ours. Which means we can join in the fun and games whenever they need!
More UNITs
UNIT has continued its expansion, with the addition of two new in-house editors, one new After Effects op, and four new producers. That brings our total staff count to over 30. As we move further away from a freelance model, it means you can come back again and again to work with your favourite person.

Black Hole
HSI directing Duo Diamond Dogs completed work on this outstanding short at UNIT through July. The film was edited In UNIT's Suite 6 by Phil Sansom. After Effects was then used to create the 'hole' itself, with the final sound design being done by Kim Storey in Pro Tools. It's great and we want one!

UNIT has been busy with a number of commercials campaigns since the start of the year, one of which is this ongoing campaign for 'Look' magazine. With VFX and online by Charlie Cassidy, with audio by Kim Storey. With a new magazine each week, there's lots to keep us busy.
On The Head
It's the start of the new footie season and Team UNIT are raring to go. Our socks are pulled up, our fresh shirts are on and the whistle is about to blow. Charlie Cassidy has been staying late in training, in order to hit the back of the net with this curtain raiser for Sky. This 30 second TV spot can be seen across all Sky channels now.

Strong Work!
From Truck Pulling to Weight Lifting, UNIT joins the heavyweights for the next series of 'Britain's Strongest Man' for Channel 5. Edited by Graham Carr in UNIT's Suite 20 and Produced by Colin Bryce for IMG Media. The five episodes will begin airing on Wednesday 6th of August and run weekly.
That's Magic
Genius magician 'Dynamo' went to work on the streets of London for these brilliant and amusing virals for Nokia through July. UNIT undertook full post on the films, directed by Chris Faith and Produced by Ollie Allgrove. They will be used as part of a brand strategy to appeal to the younger generation, combining street magic and Nokia phone technologies.
Thomson Idents
HD Documentaries
UNIT has 5 Long-form HD series' booked in at present, and counting! Both BBC and ITV have entrusted UNIT with some well known series work, which begin soon. We will talk about them when we can, but for now, look out for TV's 50 hardest Men soon to arrive on Sky One. UNIT completed ALL post including edit / grade / compositing and audio.
Promo Promotion
Here at UNIT, we are proud of our promo routes. We have worked with some great bands, singers and directors over the last 2 years and with the 'festival season' underway, we have seen a further influx of projects, including Zutons, Tricky, Rosie and The Gold Bugs, Sarah Whatmore, and the famous 'Dancing Presidents' Promo for Coldplay's 'Violet Hill'. Red Alert!
UNIT has welcomed the release of the 'RED Cam' into the world, and have been getting our teeth into several big projects. This commercial for the environment was shot 'Red' and worked on at 2k throughout. UNIT took care of all edit / grade and audio. There are a number of work flows available, so call to discuss your 'RED' project now.
Toshiba Satellite
UNIT has completed this 60 second TV commercial for the agency octOpus from Dubai and the results were literally out of this world! Directed by Nick Da Costa and with Mark Emberton as DOP, production company Wide Angle utilised every single department at UNIT from Edit to Audio, VFX to Grade.
How we did it
World Series...
... of Backgammon® is the world’s leading backgammon tour broadcasting worldwide with Eurosport, ESPN and Joost.com and features the world’s leading players playing for over €1 million prize money over four events from London to Copenhagen to Cannes. Gus Hansen, the biggest name in the game, leads the commentary. UNIT has spent the last six weeks editing and grading this full XDCam HD tapeless workflow of the Nordic Open, with further competitions in the pipeline.
Gone Fishing
UNIT continues its haul of new clients with these idents for the Discovery Channel, through Anglo Filming. 'The Deadliest Catch' follows the rocky lives of deep sea fishermen in their quest across the deepest and darkest oceans. UNIT onlined and graded a selection of idents, with Roland Woolner taking care of the graphics, and Kim Storey netting the V/O and audio.
UNIT Rocks!
UNIT has had an influx of virals through April, with Guitar Hero 3, Ford, and Samsung to name a few. Guitar Hero 3 saw an hysterical compilation of wannabes do their worst in front of a panel of judges, while in 'Samsung Illusions' we are taken on a whirlwind tour of ten optical illusions in two minutes. UNIT took care of the online, audio and some graphics work too!
Gold at Promax
UNIT's VFX whizz Charlie Cassidy has been rewarded with the news that his 30" spot - Sky HD 'Fragments' has won its first award. Agency Brothers and Sisters were in Barcelona at 'Promax Europe' to collect the coveted Gold! Click below to see our latest spot in the campaign, hot off the press...

Heartbreaker
Indie Pop band 'Scouting For Girls' were left with their hearts racing after Roland Woolner had finished his VFX work on their latest promo for the single 'Heartbeat'. Roland was asked to create pounding and breaking hearts onto the main characters in the promo.
Back to School
UNIT was put to work on no less than 78 short films for 'BBC Bitesize' through March, with Kim Storey completing all the audio mixes, Peter Lynch taking care of the grading and Nick Evans wrapping up the final online. The films were part of the extensive GSCE Bitesize revision site from the BBC and is the second year that UNIT has been involved.
Serious Series
UNIT's all Apple work-flow is proving more popular than ever with production companies relishing UNIT's finishing facilities for projects that have been cut on FCP in-house, or here at UNIT. We begin work on several new series through the summer so watch this space. Above is the recently completed 'Vegas Comes to China' 4 x 60 minute international series for Nat Geo, for which UNIT took care of the entire HD post production process.
Night Cops
Featured in Broadcast Magazine's Creative Review, UNIT has completed full post production on Sky One's new 6 x 60 minute series 'Night Cops'. The project has lasted over 7 months and can be seen through March and April on Mondays at 10pm on Sky One.

Sky increases volume
UNIT has been working on yet more commercials for Sky HD 'Believe in Better' through March, so watch this space. We have also completed this TVC for Sky's Audio Description Service for the visually impaired. Charlie Cassidy worked on After Effects in UNIT's large Suite 14.
UNIT goes Mobile
From film and TV, to web and mobile, UNIT can deliver it all. Since the beginning of January, we have been involved in an ambitious project with Ground Up Media and Annabel Karmel, the children's food and nutritional expert. Annabel is launching her own Internet TV channel, and we are helping to create a series of films with recipes, tips and health guides for both the internet and mobile platforms.
It's Showtime!
UNIT fought hard to deliver this deadline heavyweight. We created content for the David Haye vs Enzo Maccarinelli Cruiser-weight Championship fight at the O2 on March 8th, for American TV Channel 'Showtime'. We worked with HDCam and XDCam HD footage across two suites and two days, delivering master tapes on two consecutive evenings to a truck ready to beam our work to the US to be viewed by millions.
UNIT Makes Top 50
Broadcast Magazine's 'Top 70 Facilities Chart' hit the news stands on Valentine's day. UNIT has been placed at number 43 in our first full year of trading and we are simply delighted. Bourne Again
UNIT jumped straight into action with these Sponsorship Ads for the DVD release of The Bourne Ultimatum. We also worked on the Featurette to accompany the DVD release. Tim Griefenberg provided his Editing and After Effects skills in UNIT's suite 9. We then created and QC'd a never ending stream of masters for TV delivery.

We can load your FCP suite with Shake and After FX on request, and more and more of our clients are combining editing and effects work to get the job done under one roof. Be it Commercials, Promos, TV or Film work.. you can book our Editors or VFX team to work across a number of workstations to speed up the process and offer maximum flexibility. Divorce Sharia Style
This 60 minute Doc aired on CH4 at 7pm on Sunday 3rd Feb, and was featured in Broadcast Magazine's creative review on Feb 7th. It was Pick of the Day in most newspapers and UNIT was delighted to have completed all Post Production through January, from Online and Grade through to full V/O and Mix, watch out for it again on more4.
