Boudicca
UNIT has just completed the post production on a creative film for couture fashion label Boudicca. It will be used across all digital platforms to showcase their brand and distinctive design style.
Produced by Typhoon CP, the film artistically presents the construction of a dress around a bare mannequin. Live action sequences were shot using a unique motion control rig, and UNIT composited the footage before applying visual effects to embellish the finished product.

BBC Watchdog at Unit
UNIT has secured a major post-production deal with the BBC for the new series of Watchdog. Launching in September with a brand new format, the weekly, hour-long show, presented by Anne Robinson, will demand a quick post-production turnaround. UNIT’s fully tapeless workflow is perfectly suited to the complex post demands of this popular consumer rights programme.
“UNIT is committed to editing projects of a high quality and prides itself on the ability to deal with any format,” says UNIT’s CEO Adam Luckwell. “The commission is a testament to our hard work and we are thrilled to be working with the BBC again.”
Liberty Commercial
In this 30-second promotional film for human rights organisation Liberty, documents fly out of offices and assemble to form the shape of a person who obliviously loses parts of himself while wandering carelessly around London. Featuring a voice-over by Simon Callow, it highlights concerns over privacy and is the brainchild of motion graphic designer and film maker Will MacNeil. UNIT’s work on the sound design and colour grade provided a professional post-production finish to the project.

Man was made to stand upright
This new spot for the Red Cross entitled ‘Man was made to stand upright’ reveals disparate volunteers in multiple environments literally supporting those in need, in one clever continuous shot. Filmed in slow motion, the 360-degree fast rotating set required intensive pre-planning and on-set support from Unit.

NAH - Revealed
Spilling liquids, shattering glass and flying objects cascade to the ground in balletic slow motion behind a presenter who talks about compensation claims in real time. These National Accident Helpline commercials, produced for DRVT agency ARM Direct, were filmed entirely on the Phantom camera using a combination of high speed and live action photography and required intensive pre-planning and on-set support from UNIT.

Blue Square - TV Idents
Unit helped its client build 7 idents for online betting company Blue Square’s latest ‘telling it like it is’ campaign. These racing-themed bumpers grab attention with a combination of humour, surprise and classy modern visuals.
Using only archive footage and some creative VFX, the idents demonstrate how stock footage, when combined with 2D and 3D effects, can produce an eye-catching, contemporary end product that is perfectly tailored to the brand.
UNIT’s expertise in 2D and 3D FX was invaluable in developing and supporting the client’s ideas for this project.
Barry M – Colour Wheel
With every conceivable colour in their range, Barry M needed their first ever TV advert to be as vibrant, dazzling and bright as their make up. With full post and on-set support from Unit the motion controlled Red Camera footage was brought to life with 3D composited graphics and the models make up vividly cascading through the range.

Summer has arrived!
Unit built six commercials, each show a different environment to enjoy Shloer and completely created in post. Using only stock footage and some clever work from VFX, the bottle and sparkling drink over ice was vividly brought to life. Produced without a shoot, this was a refreshing approach for the client – and helped the budget too.

Sky+HD wins Promax Gold
Going by the sales figures alone, this is the most successful technique that shows the blood pumping clarity of HD on a low-def screen. After winning Gold at Promax last week for the previous campaign, the bar was set to be built upon, which we’ve done again for agency Brothers & Sisters! This campaign reflects the cinematic moments that punctuate our lives from Connery’s Bond to Barack Obama’s inauguration.

Bazuka that…
One of the most memorable strap lines in advertising is back in this new TVC for Bazuka from Bray Leino. In just two weeks, UNIT completed full post for 6 TVC’s across two products. This was achieved due to our tapeless environment allowing editing, VFX and grade to work in unison, making the changes and creating the versions for a quick delivery.
