Ian Winstanley

​Ian Winstanley is an award-winning British photographer known for his compelling portrait and reportage work. With a career spanning over two decades, he has developed a signature style that aims to reveal the inner personality of his subjects. Ian’s portfolio encompasses a diverse range of subjects, from portraits and landscapes to automotive photography, reflecting his versatility and commitment to producing great images.

Throughout his career, Ian has collaborated with a prestigious roster of clients, including Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, British Telecom, Getty Images, Habitat, Hardy’s Wines, Harley Davidson, HSBC, Ikea, Lotus, Pioneer, Triumph, Volkswagen, and World Vision. His work has been featured in and on the cover of renowned publications and work commissioned by 1843 Magazine on Tove Janssonby earned recognition at the International Photography Awards in 2020.

Born into a family of engineers and musicians with Maltese and English heritage, Ian chose to pursue the artistic path. He began his career in Birmingham, working for one of the top photographic studios before establishing his own studio in 2000. Over the past 15 years, Ian has traveled extensively, undertaking personal projects and commissions across Nepal, Bhutan, India, Africa, and China. He is currently working on a photographic book about Kathmandu, showcasing his dedication to capturing diverse cultures and landscapes.
