Five ways UNIT is powering creativity without costing the earth
At UNIT, creativity and responsibility go hand in hand. Sustainability isn’t a box we tick – it’s built into everything we do. From the renewable energy running our edit suites to the eco-friendly materials in our studios, we’re committed to reducing our impact while delivering work that inspires.
Our approach goes beyond our own walls. We look at our entire supply chain to ensure we’re building a creative space that respects the planet.
Five ways we put our values into action
1. Powered by green energy
Post-production and VFX demand a lot of energy, so we make sure it’s clean. UNIT runs entirely on green energy generated from sustainable sources, reducing our carbon footprint without dimming our creative output.
2. Cleaner journeys
Our team uses sustainable electric transport wherever possible. From client meetings to location visits, we’re swapping fuel for clean energy. We also big into cycling.
3. Reducing waste, raising standards
Single-use plastics are almost non-existent here. We’ve centralised printing to one monitored printer, buy in bulk to cut packaging, and provide reusable water bottles in every suite. Even our food scraps are composted.
4. Energy smart spaces
We’ve built efficiency into our studio and daily habits. Air conditioning is switched off when not in use and never on with windows open, appliances are chosen for efficiency, insulation has been used for natural climate control, and LED lighting throughout. Our shared data centre even benefits from collective cooling.
5. Sustainable sourcing
From recycled paper to sustainable cleaning products and toiletries, we choose materials carefully. Every purchase is considered, carefully and consciously for its environmental impact. Our commitment is simple: make exceptional work without costing the earth.
