UNIT bring the VFX to life on The 66-Year-Old Intern, A Film Challenging Ageism in Advertising

UNIT supported the VFX of The 66-Year-Old Intern, a sharp and thought-provoking short film directed by Jonnie Malachi, tackling ageism within the advertising industry.

The film centres on legendary creative Mark Denton, who returns to the workplace as an intern at 66, directly confronting assumptions around age, relevance and creative value. Blending humour with honesty, the project reframes experience as an asset rather than a limitation.

UNIT provided online finishing, ensuring a seamless final delivery across a multi-partner production.

Working alongside Covert, Nomad and No.8, the team helped bring together the film’s crafted visual and editorial elements with precision.

More than a creative experiment, The 66-Year-Old Intern is a statement on the importance of inclusion across all stages of a career, and a reminder of the depth of talent that continues to shape the industry.

UNIT credits include Head of Production Tania De Sousa, UNIT Assistant Producer Nell Simmonds and UNIT Online Editor Bryan Farrar.
