UNIT studios teamed up with RSA’s Nova Dando for the music video for La Roux’s first song in five years is suggestive of 60’s spy flicks, with an all female cast - in accordance to the title of the song. With lots of quirky styles and neon colours, our design team got stuck in, creating a retro interactive world for La Roux and her espionage. This was a great project for the UNIT team to get involved with, working across design, VFX and colour, who all collaborated together to get the right look.
Our colourist Nick Dalby worked alongside director Nova Dando and La Roux - singer/songwriter Elly Jackson on this project. Each piece is made up of multiple sets with their own distinct looks. We also graded plates for the car which was then sent to our UNIT Design department where a cool animation was created for the background. The colour contrast in the dark stage scene was particularly tricky, however the end results are bold and beautiful.
