UNIT delivers Full Picture Post Production for the exciting political thriller miniseries “Hostage” airing on Netflix.

UNIT has completed Full Picture Post on Hostage, an exciting new 5-part miniseries slated to premiere on Netflix on 21st of August.

Hostage tells the story of the kidnapping of the British Prime Minister’s husband during an international summit with her French counterpart, who is also being blackmailed. Forced into a fierce rivalry, the two political leaders must put their differences aside to work together and unravel the conspiracy threatening them both.

Filmed in the UK and the Canary Islands.

Starring Suranne Jones and Julie Delpy, Hostage was created by Matt Charman, produced by Annelie Simmons, directed by Isabelle Sieb and Amy Neal, with cinematography by Matt Gray and Catherine Derry, and Post Production led by Kate Stannard.

The UNIT team included Senior Colourist Kevin Horsewood, Online Editor & VFX Artist Simon Giblin, and Post Producer Devan Vimal, who worked closely with the directors and cinematographers of Hostage to bring this political thriller to the screen and elevate its outstanding cinematography and storytelling.

Kevin Horsewood, UNIT Senior Colourist, commented, “With ‘Hostage,’ the focus was on keeping the look natural and believable. I worked closely with Cinematographer Matt Gray to develop a look that felt authentic to each place. Downing Street needed to look true to life, while French Guiana gave us the chance to go much stronger with golden tones and a real sense of heat. As the tension builds across the series, we had the opportunity to play with the palette and change the mood with the grade. It was a great project to be part of and a chance to really let the story shape the visual style.”
