UNIT Film & TV and Eleven Films collaborate on gripping new drama STAGS for Paramount Plus, directed by BAFTA-winner David Kerr alongside Giancarlo Sanchez, and co-executive produced by David Cullen.
The gripping 6 part drama, created by Daniel Cullen and helmed by acclaimed directors David Kerr and Giancarlo Sanchez, promises to engage audiences with its intense narrative and compelling characters which streams on Paramount Plus from today.
STAGS follows the story of Stu (played by Nico Mirallegro) who heads to South America for his stag do with a group of his closest friends. The group anticipate a week of debauchery and fun but their trip takes a dark turn. Instead of boarding a flight back to the UK, the stags are sent to a lawless prison island run by two warring siblings. Friendships are pushed to the breaking point, and loyalties are tested as Stu and his mates face a harrowing fight for survival.
David Kerr, known for his BAFTA-winning work on JOHNNY ENGLISH STRIKES AGAIN and INSIDE NO 9 (BBC) is lead director and executive producer, alongside director Giancarlo Sanchez who's credits include ARES (Netflix), Santos and Joardy Season.
STAGS guarantees a unique blend of dark humour and suspense. Co-executive producer Daniel Cullen brings his experience from shows like BREEDERS (Sky) and BAD SISTERS (Apple TV+) to craft a story filled with unexpected twists and emotional depth.
The production of STAGS saw UNIT Film & TV working closely with the talented team at Eleven Films. UNIT Film & TV's contribution was vital to the visual storytelling, delivering 300 shots across three episodes. The skilled, senior team excelled creating CG shots, wider invisible VFX work and clean-up, ensuring each frame met the highest standards of quality and authenticity.
International distribution of STAGS is handled by Sony Pictures Television, expanding its reach to global audiences eager for fresh and thrilling content.
STAGS debuts exclusively on Paramount Plus in the UK today, Thursday 15 August.
