From Crime Scene to Screen: UNIT Delivers Picture Post on Criminal Record S2

UNIT has delivered full picture post on the second season of Apple TV’s critically acclaimed crime thriller Criminal Record.

The eight-episode series reunites Peter Capaldi as Detective Chief Inspector Daniel Hegarty and Cush Jumbo as Detective Sergeant June Lenker, with the story following their uneasy alliance as a murder investigation escalates into an undercover operation to foil a far-right bomb plot in London. 

Produced by Tod Productions and STV Studios, the season is directed by Ben A. Williams and Joelle Mae David, with Executive Producers Elaine Collins, Paul Rutman, Capaldi and Jumbo.

UNIT’s involvement spanned grading, online editing and VFX, shaping the tense, cinematic tone of the series across all eight episodes. UNIT Senior Colourist Dan Coles led the grade on this project, supported by UNIT Colourist Harry Shelton, whilst UNIT Head Of Scripted Online and VFX Siōn Penny oversaw online and VFX. Building on an explosive first season, UNIT’s team captured the escalating stakes as season 2 progressed, ensuring the narrative tension was maintained throughout the unravelling storyline that is central to the plot.

Season two of Criminal Record will make its global debut on Apple TV on Wednesday, 22 April, with new episodes released weekly through to Wednesday, 10 June.
