UNIT Shapes the Cinematic Look of Sky’s High-Stakes Thriller Prisoner
UNIT, the independent longform and shortform creative studio based in Fitzrovia, has completed picture post for Prisoner, Sky’s high-stakes six-part action thriller created by acclaimed writer Matt Charman (Hostage, Bridge of Spies) and directed by BAFTA-winner Otto Bathurst (Peaky Blinders).
The series stars Tahar Rahim (The Serpent, Un Prophète) and Izuka Hoyle (Boiling Point, Big Boys) in a tense story following prison transport officer Amber as she is forced to place her life in the hands of a high-value inmate, Tibor, after their convoy is ambushed. Handcuffed and on the run, they must navigate a deadly manhunt while managing an uneasy alliance, testing trust, morality and survival at every turn.
UNIT Film and TVs work on Prisoner encompassed grading, online and VFX, supporting the series’ visual storytelling with a cohesive and cinematic finish. The grade was led by UNIT Senior Colourist Kevin Horsewood, with Simon Giblin managing Online & Supporting VFX, all overseen by Senior Producer Greg Elston. The team worked closely with the wider production team to ensure the intense action sequences, emotional beats, and high-tension chase sequences were presented with clarity, consistency and dramatic impact.
The series also features a strong supporting ensemble, including Eddie Marsan, Catherine McCormack, Leonie Benesch, Finn Bennett, Sam Troughton, Laurie Davidson, Ken Nwosu, Brían F. O’Byrne and Youssef Kerkour.
Prisoner will air on Sky and will be available to stream on Sky’s on-demand platforms on 30th April.
