UNIT Brings Subtle Tension to ITV Thriller Gone with Full Picture Post
UNIT has completed full picture post for ITV’s upcoming six-part psychological drama Gone, a new series created and written by George Kay (The Long Shadow, Hijack, Lupin) coming this spring.
Commissioned by ITV’s Director of Drama Polly Hill, the series is Directed by BAFTA-winning director Richard Laxton (Mrs Wilson, The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe) and stars Eve Myles and David Morrissey. Gone is co-produced by New Pictures (an All3Media company) and Observatory Pictures, in association with All3Media International.
The drama unfolds across a range of contrasting environments, from the controlled world of a private school to the unease of surrounding woodland and the edges of suburban Bristol. At its centre is headmaster Michael Polly (Morrissey), whose ordered public life begins to unravel when he becomes the focus of a missing persons investigation. As Detective Annie Cassidy (Myles) applies growing pressure, the series builds a quiet but relentless psychological tension, questioning trust, power and the stories people choose to believe.
UNIT worked closely with the production team to amplify the escalating tension in the drama across all six episodes. The grade was led by UNIT Senior Colourist Dan Coles, Online delivered by Senior Online & VFX Editor Ben North and Director of Film & Episodic VFX Drew Jones oversaw the VFX support. UNIT’s team focused on consistency of tone while allowing subtle visual shifts to mirror the evolving psychological stakes of the investigation.
Produced by Mark Hedges, with Executive Producers George Kay, Willow Grylls and Matt Sandford – Gone will air on ITV and STV and be available on ITVX and STV Player.
