UNIT Delivers Post Production for the new Cate Blanchett Film, featuring in Avant Garde Magazine Beauty Papers

UNIT has collaborated with Beauty Papers Magazine for their 10th anniversary issue ‘Hollywood’ on the post production for Cate Blanchett’s latest editorial film, a one-minute short and a 20-second piece, featuring a mask painted by the legendary Artist Maggi Hambling CBE.

The films explore the notions of reinvention and the ‘reveal’ of character, forming the cinematic centrepiece to this issue.

Celebrating a decade of Beauty Art and Culture, the Hollywood edition is available in print and digital. The film is hosted on Beauty Papers’ online art space.

UNIT worked across the film’s post-production, delivering a high-end finish that amplified its signature moody aesthetic. The creative effort was led by Darryl Bolton and Phil Delaney (UNIT Executive Producers), with VFX crafted by Ian Baker.

Collaborating closely with Beauty Papers Director Louisiane Trotobas, the team brought the film’s unexpected visual language vividly to life.

UNIT Executive Producer Darryl Bolton said:

“Collaborating on a project of such visual and conceptual depth was a privilege. Cate’s performance, Louisiana’s direction, and Beauty Papers’ editorial vision demanded a post-approach that was both technically rigorous and emotionally resonant. We’re proud to have helped shape the final piece.”

Beauty Papers Director Louisiane Trotobas said:

“This film is not about beauty on the surface—it’s about the machinery beneath it. Cate’s performance inhabits the tension between mask and myth, and UNIT’s VFX work allowed us to sculpt that tension into something tactile, cinematic, and deeply strange. It’s a dream sequence for today’s culture crowd addicted to reinvention.”

Beauty Papers Creative Director Valerie Wickes said:

“We are so thrilled that the extraordinary and formidable talent that is Cate Blanchett rejoined us for her second adventure in Beauty Papers, creating these amazing and intimate shorts for the Hollywood edition.”
