UNIT’s Longform VFX team work on Netflix’s latest comedy Feature Film Ladies First

UNIT, the independent longform and shortform creative studio based in Fitzrovia, has contributed VFX work to the upcoming Netflix comedy feature film Ladies First, starring Sacha Baron Cohen, Rosamund Pike & Charles Dance

Directed by Thea Sharrock with a screenplay by Natalie Krinsky, Cinco Paul, and Katie Silberman, the film follows David, the chauvinistic head of an agency that finds himself in a parallel world where women hold all the power, turning his world upside down as he navigates a society where men experience the world from the lens of the women he once oppressed.

Adapted from Eléonore Pourriat’s Je Ne Suis Pas Un Homme Facile, Ladies First combines physical comedy, visual humour and narrative inventiveness, to highlight the inequalities women experience on a day to day basis, forcing Sacha Baron Cohen’s character to confront his ingrained misogyny with his trademark satirical style.

UNIT’s role focused on VFX, delivering approximately 35 shots across fixes, clean-up and subtle beauty work. The team approached the work with precision, ensuring seamless VFX work while supporting the film’s visual tone, pacing and comedic rhythm throughout.

Ladies First is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on 22nd May 2026, offering audiences an inventive and entertaining take on the gender-reversal comedy, and marking another collaboration in UNIT’s growing body of work in feature film VFX.

UNIT’s credits include Executive Producer Drew Jones & VFX Supervisor Paul Round.
